Pertevniyal Sultan

Pertevniyal Sultan Beinci Kadnefendi, sometimes called Besme and Hasn , was a Circassian consort of Ottoman Sultan Mahmud II, and Valide Sultan to their son Abdlaziz. Because of this, her rank in the imperial harem was Beinci Kadnefendi . Her sister, Hoyar Kadnefendi, was the mother of Ismail Pasha, Khedive of Egypt and Sudan from 1863 to 1879.
